Someone Has To Say It.
The truth about what's broken. The gap between where you are and what's possible. The thing everyone in the room already knows but won't name.
That’s where we start. Your spark is just the beginning of the storm.
What We Do
Four service areas. One through-line: honesty. authenticy. ferocity. kindness.
-
You already know what you do.
The problem is nobody else does — or the way it's being said isn't doing the work it should.
We find the story that's actually true and build the language, positioning, and content architecture around it.
For practices, organizations, and people at inflection points who need words that earn trust before they ask for anything.
-
Most breakdowns aren't people problems.
They're translation problems — marketing and compliance not speaking the same language, operations and leadership reading from different playbooks, two teams solving the same problem without knowing it.
We map where the friction lives and build the bridge.
-
The work nobody budgets for until they lose someone they can't replace.
We build the conditions where people actually want to show up — teams, events, civic spaces, ERGs, neighborhoods. Retention isn't a policy.
It's a culture you build on purpose.
-
You don't need one platform that does everything.
You need a few great tools that each do one job well and hand off cleanly to the next.
A Spark Stack audit maps what you have, cuts what you're not using, and connects what should talk to each other.
We leave you with a system that runs without you babysitting it.
Every engagement starts with a conversation. Not a sales call — a real one. You leave with something useful whether we decide to work together or not.
That's not a policy. That's the point.
How We Do
Each engagement is different. Our process is intentional.
-
It starts with a real conversation — not a discovery form, not a questionnaire.
One hour. You talk, I listen for what you're not saying. You leave with a custom deliverable based on what surfaces.
This is billable because your time and my attention are both worth something before we decide to work together.
-
Before anything gets fixed, we map what's actually broken. Not the symptom — the system underneath it. This is where most consultants skip ahead.
We don't.
-
You get a clear, specific plan.
Not a deck full of frameworks with your logo on it. A real document with real next steps that makes sense to the person who has to execute it.
Whether that's you, your team, or your network.
-
We work alongside you through implementation — as much or as little as you need.
Some clients want a thought partner for the whole build. Some want the blueprint and run.
Both are right.
Because the person who tells the truth in the room is usually the one who gets managed out. Trust me.
We built Dopamine Furnace so that person has somewhere to call.
That’s Why We Do It.
Who Is Dopamine Furnace?
Aaron Berth has spent twenty years being the person in the room who says the thing nobody else will. An operator in aspirational retail and hospitality flags, a brand strategist at one of the country's largest financial services firms, a civic leader, and a writer—the through-line has always been the same: he sees what's broken before anyone names it, and he knows how to say it in a way people can actually hear.
He's not a consultant who learned strategy from a textbook. He learned it by running businesses inside systems that didn't fit, adapting playbooks that weren't built for his people, and watching organizations promote comfort over truth until the truth caught up with them anyway.
Dopamine Furnace exists because the best advice Aaron ever gave was given for free, inside someone else's org chart, to people who needed to hear it and couldn't find anyone willing to say it.
That ends now.
He works with founders, practitioners, advisors, and organizations who are done with generic strategy and ready for someone who will look at what they're actually building — not what they wish they were building — and tell them the truth about the gap.
Based in Milwaukee. Working everywhere.
With Intention.
I’m Listening.
The Midwest loves a long chat by the fire. A little too much.
Dopamine Furnace is here to cut through the nice with Fierce Kindness.
We'll tell you what we actually see. You'll leave with something useful. Whether we work together or not.
Spark Sessions start at $200. No retainer to start. No junior staff. No recycled frameworks.
And if you have something we can send clients toward — let's talk about that too. The Creative Barter is open.
Serious operators only.
